Easier dosing for stomach bug treatment tested in new trial

NCT ID NCT07242443

First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of taking amoxicillin (an antibiotic) with tegoprazan (a stomach acid reducer) to treat H. pylori, a bacteria that can cause stomach ulcers. About 240 adults with confirmed H. pylori will take the same total daily dose of amoxicillin but on different schedules: one group takes it three times a day, the other twice a day. The goal is to see if the simpler twice-daily schedule works just as well and is easier for patients to follow.
