Could a valve fix save shock patients?

NCT ID NCT05298124

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a procedure called TEER, which repairs a leaky heart valve, in people with cardiogenic shock (a life-threatening condition where the heart can't pump enough blood). About 144 participants in intensive care will be randomly assigned to either standard medical therapy or TEER. The goal is to see if TEER reduces deaths, need for a heart transplant or pump, or reliance on long-term heart-support drugs.
