First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested a mobile app called SyMon-SAYS that lets children with cancer report their symptoms weekly to their doctors. The goal was to see if using the app helps manage symptoms and improve quality of life. 216 children and their parents took part, with some using the app for 16 weeks and others starting later.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Symptom monitoring mobile app (SyMon-SAYS)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could give doctors real-time updates on children's symptoms, helping them manage side effects better and improve quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study focused on feasibility, not a large trial. The app may not reduce symptoms or improve outcomes for all children.
