Can a sensor device boost brain and body recovery after hip fracture?
NCT ID NCT07392515
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a sensor-based device to standard physical therapy can improve both thinking and movement in frail older adults recovering from hip fracture surgery. Thirty participants aged 65-89 will use the device for part of their rehab. The goal is to see if this tech-enhanced approach leads to better cognitive and motor outcomes than conventional therapy alone.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
sensor-based rehabilitation device
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could offer a more effective way to help elderly patients recover both movement and thinking after a hip fracture.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The device is an add-on, not a replacement for standard care.
