NCT ID NCT06161662
First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a gentle electrical stimulation at specific acupoints (Neiguan and Shenmen) can help prevent delirium—sudden confusion—after abdominal surgery in patients aged 65 and older. The researchers also checked brain wave patterns to understand how it might work. 226 participants were involved, and the goal was to see if this simple, non-invasive technique could improve recovery.
