Summary
This study tested a special checklist called the team time-out checklist (TTOC) to help operating room staff communicate better before making the first cut. The checklist was based on the WHO surgical safety checklist but with clearer wording and assigned roles. Researchers observed 151 surgeries to see if the checklist improved information sharing and teamwork.
