Tea extract may boost muscle recovery after downhill running
NCT ID NCT07113405
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a drink containing protein and tea extract helps leg muscles recover faster after 30 minutes of downhill jogging. Sixty healthy adults aged 18-40 will be randomly assigned to receive either the tea extract drink, protein alone, or a placebo. Over 5 days, researchers will measure muscle strength, jump performance, pain, and blood markers to see if the tea extract speeds up recovery.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- tea extract and protein
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a natural way to speed up muscle recovery after exercise.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study in healthy young adults, so results may not apply to everyone. The effect may be small or no different from protein alone.
