First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested if a painless brain stimulation technique called tDCS can reduce shortness of breath and improve lung function in people hospitalized with a COPD flare-up. 30 adults with COPD received either real or fake tDCS alongside standard care for 3 days. Researchers measured breathing, muscle strength, and brain activity to see if the treatment helps.
