Summary

This study looked at new ways to monitor brain activity in people with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Researchers tested special electrodes placed in the brain and on the scalp to detect spreading depolarizations, which are waves of brain activity that can cause damage. The goal was to develop less invasive monitoring methods to better understand and manage TBI. A total of 147 adults in intensive care took part.
