Blood test may replace unnecessary CT scans for mild head injuries

Summary

This study looks at a new blood test that can quickly tell if a person with a mild head injury has brain damage. The goal is to see if using this test in the emergency room can reduce the number of unnecessary CT scans, speed up care, and help doctors make better decisions. The study will include 340 adults with mild traumatic brain injury who arrive at the ER within 24 hours of their injury.
