Personalized TB treatment could shorten recovery time

Summary
This study tests whether tuberculosis (TB) treatment can be personalized based on a person's risk of poor outcomes. About 900 adults with drug-sensitive TB will be grouped as lower-risk or higher-risk. Lower-risk participants may get a shorter treatment, while higher-risk participants may get a stronger drug combination. The goal is to see if tailored treatment works as well as or better than standard care, with fewer side effects.
