Scientists use scans to watch TB drug travel through patients

NCT ID NCT05609552

Summary

This small study aimed to understand how a tuberculosis drug, pretomanid, moves through and concentrates in the bodies of patients. Researchers used a special PET scan to track a tiny, safe amount of a radioactive version of the drug in 10 people with TB. The goal was to see if the drug reaches infected lung areas effectively, which could help improve future TB treatments.
