New tech aims to speed up TB diagnosis in High-Risk areas
NCT ID NCT04666311
Summary
This study tested two new screening tools to help doctors quickly rule out tuberculosis (TB) in adults with symptoms like cough or fever. Researchers enrolled 1,400 adults in South Africa and Lesotho to see how accurately a chest X-ray analysis software and a simple blood protein test could identify people who likely do not have TB. The goal is to create faster, more efficient screening methods, especially in areas with high rates of TB, HIV, and COVID-19.
