New heart valve procedure aims to slash stroke risk

NCT ID NCT07276711

Summary

This study is testing a new medical device designed to catch and remove tiny bits of debris that can break loose during a minimally invasive heart valve replacement procedure (called TAVR). The goal is to see if this device is safe and can help prevent strokes and other complications better than a currently used device. About 663 people with severe aortic valve narrowing will be randomly assigned to get either the new device or the standard one during their procedure and followed for 30 days.
