Ear device may ease nerve problems in kidney patients

NCT ID NCT06927024

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether a small device that stimulates a nerve in the ear can safely help people with chronic kidney disease (stages 3-5) who have problems with their autonomic nervous system (which controls things like heart rate and blood pressure). Thirty participants will use the device or a sham version for 15 minutes a day for two weeks. The main goals are to see if people can tolerate the treatment and if it improves heart rate variability, a sign of better nerve function.
