Taurine may soothe radiation mouth sores in cancer patients

Summary
This study tests if taurine, a natural substance, can prevent or reduce severe mouth sores caused by radiation treatment in people with nasopharyngeal cancer. About 130 patients will either receive taurine or standard care during their radiation therapy. The goal is to see if taurine lowers the chance of developing painful mouth sores.
