First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests a new imaging agent called [18F]NIDF that may better detect abnormal tau protein tangles in the brain using PET scans. Researchers aim to see if this tracer is safe and more accurate than current methods for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease and other tau-related neurodegenerative conditions. About 20 healthy volunteers and patients will participate. The goal is to improve diagnosis, not to treat or cure the disease.
