Scientists scan brains to spot Alzheimer's before it starts

NCT ID NCT03189485

Summary

This study uses a special brain scan to measure a protein called tau in older adults with normal memory and those with mild memory problems. Researchers want to see how tau relates to brain structure and function. The goal is to better understand the difference between normal aging and the very early stages of Alzheimer's disease. Participants are part of an ongoing national aging study and will have one or two scan visits.
