New surgical approach for rectal cancer shows promise in Mid-Stage trial

Summary

This study is testing a new surgical technique called transanal total mesorectal excision (taTME) for rectal cancer. The approach works from the bottom up to make removing the tumor easier and potentially safer. About 100 adults with rectal cancer will have this surgery to see if it improves outcomes and recovery compared to standard methods.
