Summary
This study tested giving a single, targeted dose of radiation directly to the tumor site during breast cancer surgery, followed by standard radiation. Over 1,100 patients with small tumors (under 3.5 cm) took part. The goal was to see if this approach could lower the chance of cancer coming back in the same breast.
