First seen Jun 03, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested whether a numbing injection (TAP block) given before a tummy tuck reduces pain and the need for strong painkillers after surgery. Fifty-two adults took part, receiving either the real injection or a placebo. The main goal was to see how much opioid pain medicine they used in the first 24 hours after surgery.
