First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jul 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This pilot study will test whether a daily 30-minute Tao Calligraphy mindfulness practice can increase mitochondrial DNA content in blood cells over 12 months. Fifty healthy or ill adults (excluding those with genetic diseases, cancer, or serious mental disorders) will provide blood samples and complete quality-of-life questionnaires at the start, 3, 6, and 12 months. The goal is to see if this simple practice can improve cellular energy markers.
