Could a tampon spot cancer? new study aims for simpler test
NCT ID NCT03538665
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple tampon sample can be used to find early signs of uterine or ovarian cancer. Researchers are enrolling 1,500 women who are already scheduled for surgery to remove their uterus or ovaries. They will compare DNA markers found in the tampon samples with tissue from the surgery to see if the tampon method is accurate and acceptable to patients.
