Virus therapy teams up with radiation to fight sarcoma
NCT ID NCT02923778
Summary
This study is testing a two-part treatment for soft tissue sarcoma that can be removed by surgery. First, doctors inject a modified cold sore virus (T-VEC) directly into the tumor to help the immune system attack the cancer. Then, patients receive a standard course of radiation therapy. The goal is to see if this combination can kill more cancer cells before surgery, potentially leading to better outcomes.
