Can a stem cell transplant stop T-Cell lymphoma from returning?

NCT ID NCT07353840

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether a stem cell transplant (using a patient's own cells) after successful first treatment can help control peripheral T-cell lymphoma. About 160 people will either get the transplant or just be monitored. The goal is to see if the transplant delays the cancer from coming back.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (using the patient's own stem cells)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that a stem cell transplant after initial treatment helps keep peripheral T-cell lymphoma from coming back.

What could go wrong

This is a mid-stage trial with only 160 participants. The transplant carries risks like infection and organ damage, and it may not work better than simply watching and waiting.
