First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study looked at how certain immune cells (antigen-presenting cells) behave in people with sepsis, a severe response to infection. Researchers collected extra blood samples from 119 participants, including sepsis patients, other critically ill patients, and healthy volunteers. The goal was to understand why sepsis patients often get new infections, but this study did not test any treatment.
