Summary
This study aims to better understand how syphilis is transmitted between sexual partners, specifically focusing on women and men who have sex with women only. Researchers will collect samples from 480 participants with early syphilis to check if and where live, transmissible bacteria are present on the body, even without visible sores. The goal is to fill a knowledge gap, as most prior research has focused on men who have sex with men.
