Biopsy breakthrough could end Trial-and-Error for arthritis drugs
NCT ID NCT05379322
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if taking a small sample of joint tissue (synovial biopsy) could help doctors choose the right biologic drug for people with rheumatoid arthritis who haven't gotten better with standard medicines. The goal was to match each patient to the most effective treatment from the start, avoiding months of trying different drugs. However, the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled, so no results are available.
