Summary
This study tested a medical food called SBD121, which contains prebiotics and probiotics, to see if it helps manage symptoms of early rheumatoid arthritis. 143 adults with newly diagnosed RA took either the supplement or a placebo for 16 weeks. The main goal was to see if more people in the supplement group achieved a 20% improvement in arthritis symptoms like joint swelling and pain.
