First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether a synbiotic (a mix of probiotics and prebiotics) can improve endurance in trained cyclists. 22 adults who cycled at least 3 hours per week took either the supplement or a placebo for several weeks, then completed a 20km time trial. Researchers measured completion time, oxygen use, and gut health to see if the supplement made a difference.
