Could one bag of whole blood save more trauma patients than mixing separate parts?

NCT ID NCT06495294

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether giving trauma patients whole blood before they reach the hospital works better than giving separate blood parts (red cells and plasma). About 60 adults with severe bleeding from injury will take part. The goal is to see if whole blood is easier to carry and use, and if it improves survival and reduces the need for more transfusions.
