First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested a new, non-invasive method to detect COVID-19 by scanning a person's fingerprints. Researchers used a special camera to analyze sweat on the fingertips of 66 adults who had recently tested positive or negative for COVID-19. The goal was to see if patterns in sweat chemicals could accurately identify the infection without a nasal swab or blood draw.
