Heart patients may get safer blood thinner plan in new study

NCT ID NCT06588595

First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a genetic score (ABCD-GENE) to guide reducing blood thinners after heart stent placement works better than the usual approach. About 90 adults who have had a stent and are on two blood thinners will be randomly assigned to either a score-guided or unguided reduction plan. The goal is to see which method better balances preventing clots and reducing bleeding risk.
