Heart stent patients: new study tests safer blood thinner plans

NCT ID NCT06821191

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two strategies to reduce bleeding from standard blood thinners after a heart stent procedure: lowering the dose of one drug versus switching to a different drug. About 78 adults who have had a stent and are on dual antiplatelet therapy will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The goal is to see if both strategies are equally effective at preventing blood clots while reducing bleeding risk.
