First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study followed 240 people with head and neck cancer to see how their swallowing changed from diagnosis to 18 months after their first treatment. Researchers used a questionnaire called the Deglutition Handicap Index (DHI) to measure patients' own experience of swallowing problems, along with doctor assessments. The goal was to better understand when and how severe swallowing issues occur, which could help improve future care.
