New drug may cut opioid use for broken rib pain

Summary

This study tests whether adding suzetrigine to standard pain treatments helps adults with multiple broken ribs feel less pain and use fewer opioids. About 80 people will be randomly assigned to get either suzetrigine or a placebo alongside usual care. The goal is to improve breathing and reduce complications like lung infections.
