First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a drug called Suzetrigine to standard pain relief can lower the amount of strong opioids needed after weight-loss or heart surgery. About 235 adults having these surgeries will be randomly assigned to receive either Suzetrigine or a placebo alongside their usual pain medicines. The goal is to see if this approach reduces opioid use and pain scores without increasing side effects.
