New stitching technique tested to prevent problems after cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07313839

Summary

This study compares two different stitching methods used to close the top of the vagina after a hysterectomy performed for gynecologic cancers. It aims to see which method leads to fewer complications like infections, bleeding, or the wound reopening in the three months after surgery. The trial will include 310 women undergoing minimally invasive surgery and will randomly assign them to receive either the new self-locking stitches or the traditional stitches.
