Brain scan surveillance trial aims to catch metastases early in HER2+ breast cancer

NCT ID NCT07503717

First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether it's possible to routinely scan the brain in people with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer to find hidden brain tumors early. About 69 participants will get a baseline brain MRI, and if no tumors are found, they are randomly assigned to either follow-up scans or standard care (no routine scans). The goal is to see if patients are willing to join and if early detection is practical.
