Doctors study if Kids' colds pose bigger surgery risk after pandemic
NCT ID NCT07157111
Summary
This study looked back at the medical records of nearly 2,400 children to see if having a cold before surgery is riskier now than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers compared children with mild cold symptoms who had elective surgery to understand if the pandemic changed the risks of breathing problems or other complications. The goal is to help doctors make better decisions about when it's safest to schedule surgery for a child who has a sniffle or cough.
