New drug combo aims to spare seniors from colorectal cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT06205836

Summary

This study is testing whether immunotherapy drugs (cemiplimab with or without fianlimab) can effectively treat a specific type of colorectal cancer in patients aged 70 and older, or in adults who are poor candidates for surgery. The main goal is to see if the treatment can completely eliminate the cancer, potentially allowing patients to avoid major surgery. Researchers will closely monitor participants for two years to check the treatment's effectiveness and safety.
