Can a neck surgery help tame diabetes and strengthen bones?

NCT ID NCT05761743

Summary

This study aims to learn if surgery to remove overactive parathyroid glands (parathyroidectomy) helps improve blood sugar control and bone health in people who also have type 2 diabetes. Researchers will follow 80 patients for a year, comparing those who choose surgery to those managed without it. The goal is to gather information on how these two common conditions interact and if treating one benefits the other.
