Surgery pain puzzle: should addiction medication dose be lowered?

NCT ID NCT04091009

Summary

This study aimed to find the best way to manage pain after surgery for people taking buprenorphine for opioid addiction. Researchers planned to compare continuing the full medication dose versus temporarily lowering it around surgery time. The goal was to see which approach better controlled pain and prevented relapse, but the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
