Surgery combo shows promise against tough lung cancer

NCT ID NCT07177092

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether removing the main lung tumor surgically, followed by the targeted drug osimertinib, helps people with advanced EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer live longer without the disease getting worse. About 118 adults with stage III-IV cancer who haven't had prior treatment will be randomly assigned to get surgery plus osimertinib or osimertinib alone. The goal is to see if the combination delays cancer progression better than the drug alone.
