First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether suramin (KZ101) can improve social skills in boys aged 5-14 with autism. It is a Phase 2 trial with 45 participants, using a crossover design where each boy receives both the drug and a placebo at different times. The main goal is to measure changes in social behavior using a standard assessment. The study builds on earlier promising results in mice and a small human trial.
