Could a simple home device replace overnight lab tests for sleep apnea?
NCT ID NCT07530302
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a small, single-use home monitor called Sunrise can help doctors decide how to adjust CPAP therapy for people with obstructive sleep apnea who are not getting enough benefit. About 105 adults will use the Sunrise device at home and also undergo a standard overnight lab test. The goal is to see if the home device leads to the same treatment decisions as the lab test, potentially making care more convenient and accessible.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Sunrise device (mandibular movement-based sleep monitor)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could allow people with sleep apnea to have their CPAP therapy adjusted at home instead of spending a night in a sleep lab.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial (105 people) comparing a new device to the gold standard. The device may not be accurate enough, and results may not apply to everyone with sleep apnea.
