Drug before surgery aims to shrink advanced kidney tumors

Summary

This study is testing if taking the drug sunitinib before surgery helps control advanced kidney cancer that has spread. Fifty patients who are eligible for surgery to remove their primary kidney tumor will take sunitinib for four weeks, have surgery, and then continue the drug. Researchers want to see if this approach delays cancer progression and is safe.
