New program aims to catch teen suicide warning signs in rural schools

Summary
This study is testing a program that helps school health clinics in rural West Virginia regularly screen teenagers for suicide risk. Researchers will work with providers, parents, and teens to adapt the program to fit local needs. About 30 youth will take part to see if the screening and follow-up steps are practical and helpful.
