Can mindfulness and gratitude save teens from suicide?
NCT ID NCT04994873
Summary
This study is testing a program called STEP to see if it can reduce suicide attempts and suicidal thoughts in teenagers who have been hospitalized for suicide risk. 216 teens will be randomly assigned to either the STEP program or to receive standard care plus reminders to use a safety app. The STEP program involves 4 counseling sessions focused on mindfulness, gratitude, and noticing positive feelings, followed by daily text reminders to practice these skills for 3 months after leaving the hospital.
