Can a quick chat about substance use help childhood cancer survivors?

NCT ID NCT07516301

First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple substance use screening and short counseling session can be smoothly added to regular check-ups for adult survivors of childhood cancer. About 30 survivors will fill out a questionnaire about their use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Those with moderate to high risk will get a supportive talk with their social worker during the same visit. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and helpful in a real-world clinic setting.
